The Device Spec Lookup tool resolves hardware specifications from official manufacturer sources rather than generating them. Upload an Excel file containing model names, part numbers, serial numbers, or Dell service tags, and the system queries HP/HPE PartSurfer, Lenovo Support and the Lenovo PSREF configuration database, and Dell's service-tag lookup. Every resolved result is cached in a persistent offline catalog, which becomes the primary source over time. Where a device cannot be resolved from a real source, the tool reports that honestly instead of guessing.

How It Works

The tool runs a tiered lookup pipeline. First it parses your uploaded Excel file to extract device identifiers. Each device is then checked against the persistent offline catalog, so repeat lookups return instantly. On a miss, it queries the manufacturer's own source: HP/HPE via the PartSurfer parts database, Lenovo via Lenovo Support and PSREF, and Dell via its service-tag lookup. A serial number or service tag resolves to that individual unit's exact configuration (high confidence). A model name on its own resolves to the model's documented minimum supported configuration — the lowest configuration that model ships in, never an estimate (medium confidence). Devices with no available source return an honest not-found result, with guidance to supply a serial number (low confidence). Resolved results are written back to the catalog for reuse.
