The Resale Readiness Score transforms device assessment from guesswork into data-driven decisions. By combining hardware health metrics from PXE health checks, real-time eBay market valuations, and cosmetic condition ratings into a unified 0-100 score, ITAD professionals can instantly determine the optimal disposition path for any device. The system automatically categorizes devices into three actionable recommendations: Resell (65+), Harvest Parts (35-64), or Recycle (0-34).
Under the Hood
How It Works
The scoring engine uses a weighted algorithm tailored to device type. For laptops: drive health (30%), battery health (20%), market value (35%), and cosmetic condition (15%). For desktops/servers: drive health (40%), market value (45%), and cosmetic condition (15%). Health scores are imported directly from PXE boot health checks or entered manually. Market data is fetched via the eBay Price Lookup engine, analyzing completed/sold listings to determine fair market value. Cosmetic condition uses a 5-point scale from Excellent to Poor. Each component generates detailed reasons explaining its impact on the final score. The recommendation engine applies configurable thresholds (default: 65 for resell, 35 for harvest) and provides actionable guidance for each disposition path.
